The reading will form part of a 2pm to 5pm event where families can meet author Nastassja Pretorius and hear the author read an extract from her book. Copies of Brave Little Hearts can be signed by author Pretorius for families.
Pretorius’ appearances in Arklow have been organized by Bridgewater Shopping Centre at the North Quay and are part of her public appearances to showcase her children’s literature.
Brave Little Hearts is a story about courage, friendship and many of the emotions that children go through. Nastassja aims to help children understand and express many of their feelings throughout the story.
The new book has been illustrated by Emma Healy and is intended to be the first of a series of children’s books. It will be published in September 2026.
An opportunity for children to hear a story by the author and to find out more about the book and the ideas behind it.
It will also be an opportunity to bring children’s literature written by a Wicklow author to a local setting such as a shopping center rather than a library or a bookshop.
Bridgewater Shopping Centre are hosting a program of community events throughout the Halloween weekend and have confirmed the reading and signing of Brave Little Hearts as part of these.
The event will begin with Nastassja reading Brave Little Hearts and then she will sign copies of her book for visitors.
Bridgewater Shopping Centre, North Quay, Arklow on Saturday, 31st October from 2pm until 5pm.
