Pink Salt restaurant in Bray has experienced an extraordinary week of highs and lows that has left staff both rattled and delighted.
On Tuesday afternoon, the establishment fell victim to a break-in when an intruder made off with money from the till. The incident occurred while two chefs were working inside, engaged in cleaning and preparation duties. Despite the kitchen noise and a closed sign on the door, the open entrance which is positioned prominently behind a bus stop proved an opportunity for the thief. CCTV footage of the incident has been shared on the Bray Open Forum Facebook page.
The theft proved disheartening for the team at Pink Salt, who work tirelessly to maintain their business and deliver quality service to customers. “It was a disappointing and upsetting experience for us,” the restaurant stated, reflecting on the impact of the break-in.
However, the mood shifted dramatically just two days later.
On Thursday evening, the restaurant received an unexpected visit from Hollywood star Kevin Bacon and his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick. The surprise arrival provided a remarkable lift for the team, who enjoyed meeting the acclaimed couple as they dined at the restaurant. The guests kindly posed for photographs with staff before departing.
“Having such lovely guests visit us on Thursday was a welcome change and a memorable experience for everyone working at Pink Salt,” the restaurant reflected.
Pink Salt’s management expressed gratitude to their supporters and encouraged continued backing for local enterprises in Bray.
