Crazy Cafe in Arklow has announced the permanent closure of its business, describing the decision as a difficult one after efforts to keep the operation going.
In a statement shared with customers, the business said it had not made the decision lightly, but changes across the vaping industry in recent times had reached a point where it could no longer continue.
“This has not been an easy decision, and one we certainly haven’t made lightly,”
“We have tried our very best to make things work, but with the vaping industry changing so much in recent times, we have unfortunately reached a point where we can no longer continue.”
Crazy Cafe operated on Main Street in Arklow alongside Crazy Vape, combining a café offering with the vaping business.
The announcement comes amid changes to Ireland’s vaping market. A new tax on e-liquid came into effect on 1st November 2025, adding 50 cent per millilitre, excluding VAT, to the cost of vape liquid. The measure applied to products containing nicotine and those without it.
In its closure announcement, the business expressed gratitude to customers who had supported it, whether through regular visits or occasional purchases.
“We are incredibly grateful to every customer who has supported us along the way,” the statement said, adding that their support had meant more than they might realise.
The owners also reflected on what they had built and the people they had met during the business’s time in operation, thanking customers for their loyalty.
“While this chapter is coming to an end, we will always appreciate the support and loyalty shown to us.”
