Rail passengers using the line from Arklow to Dublin are affected once again this Bank Holiday Monday as planned engineering works continue to affect services operating along the Dublin to Rosslare line.
Rail passengers will still be able to travel on the line between Dublin and Rosslare but will need to change to a bus at Bray station. All services between Dublin and Bray will be operated by bus and rail passengers will need to change at the Co. Wicklow station.
The engineering work is part of a three-day program of works to the Dublin to Rosslare line which started on Saturday 24th October and continues over the Bank Holiday weekend.
While trains are running between Bray and Rosslare trains will be terminating at Bray on the Dublin side during the engineering works.
Passengers traveling north from Arklow on the line will have to change to a replacement bus at Bray.
Travelers heading south from Dublin on the line to Arklow, Gorey, Wexford and Rosslare will also travel by replacement bus, boarding at Dublin Connolly and changing at Bray for their train.
An extra replacement bus service is operating between Dún Laoghaire and Bray.
Southbound trains running from Rosslare will depart from Bray at 11.20am, 2.40pm and 7.40pm on Monday according to the revised timetable issued by Iarnród Éireann.
The corresponding departure times from Arklow are listed below for information: 12:17, 15:35 and 20:35.
Northbound services will run from Rosslare Europort to Bray and will then continue on to Dublin with replacement buses. The scheduled times for departure from Rosslare Europort are 9.40am, 2.05pm and 6pm.
The same works are also affecting DART services, with no trains running between Grand Canal Dock and Bray stations over the three days.
As well as affecting Arklow line passengers these works will also impact DART customers, with no trains running between Grand Canal Dock and Bray while the work is ongoing. DART services are running between Malahide and Grand Canal Dock and there are closures at several stations on the southern end of the DART line including Greystones and several others.
Disruption will affect customers traveling through Greystones, Bray and other eastern commuter stations and who also travel on Arklow line services.
Check revised times for travel on Monday. Expect additional travel time and disruvision to your onward travel connections.
Works are due to cease following Monday’s rail services with all arrangements to operate throughout the bank holiday weekend.
For Arklow passengers traveling to Dublin after the weekend there will be little change to note other than having to change trains for a bus at Bray.
Travelers should check for the latest travel information before leaving for the station especially where connection to another service is required.
