European Glory for Arklow Racquetball Club

Arklow Racquetball Club has made the town proud after a hugely successful showing at the European Racquetball Championships, held in Aesch, Switzerland, from 24th to 30th August. Competing as part of Team Ireland, local players brought home an impressive haul of medals across multiple categories.

- Men’s Open Doubles – Silver

- Men’s Team Competition – Silver
A special mention went to Maureen Gannon, who travelled to Switzerland to support the players throughout the competition.
In total, Team Ireland secured 58 medals at the championships (25 gold, 20 silver, and 13 bronze). Of those, 11 were won by Arklow athletes, which is a remarkable contribution to Ireland’s overall success.
The achievements of Jimmy, Antonia, and Reece are a source of great pride for both the club and the wider Arklow community, highlighting the town’s important role in the sport at a European level.
