Arklow Baton Twirlers Win Bronze at World Majorettes Championships

Arklow is celebrating international sporting success after three young members of the Arklow Baton Twirlers secured a bronze medal at the 2025 World Majorettes Championships. Representing Team Ireland, Erin, Daisey Mae, and Sofia took home third place in the Exhibition Corps – Showtwirl Accessory category, marking a historic moment for the local club.
The trio travelled as part of the Irish team to the prestigious competition, which brought together top baton twirling talent from across the globe. The event governed by the IBTF International Baton Twirling Federation, is widely regarded as the highest level of competition in the sport, drawing teams from Europe, Asia, and the Americas to compete in categories such as traditional majorettes, pompom, mix, and exhibition corps.
The Arklow girls performed in the Showtwirl Accessory discipline, which combines elements of dance, precise baton technique, and creative use of props — all choreographed into a dynamic group performance. The team’s flair, technical skill, and stage presence wowed the international judges, earning them a well-deserved spot on the podium.
The girls are expected to receive a warm welcome upon their return home, and their achievement will no doubt inspire the next generation of twirlers coming through the club’s ranks.
Congratulations to Erin, Daisey Mae and Sofia, and to everyone at Arklow Baton Twirlers!
