Permission Refused For Arklow Coffee And Drive-Thru Pizza

Arklow Coffee And Drive-Thru Pizza
The site of the proposed devlopment on Wexford Road

A proposed new coffee and drive-thru pizza development in Arklow has been refused planning permission.

The application which was submitted by Rye Gap Ltd consisted of the erection of a single-storey modular building for use as a coffee and pizza takeaway, the demolition of the single-storey dereclit structure, and the erection of advertising signage along with all associated site works and services.

The proposed site for the development is directly adjacent to John Earls Motors on the Wexford Road and was to include parking for both staff and customers.

However the application was refused by Wicklow County Council based on three factors.

These included that the development would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, would endanger public safety by reason of serious traffic hazard, and would result in the underutilisation of zoned land within the urban area.

There has been no subsequent appeal submitted following the rejection of the application.
