Lighting Faults in Arklow and South Wicklow Set for Review

Local TD Brian Brennan has provided an update on the issue of public lighting in Arklow and South County Wicklow following a recent meeting with the Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council.
At the meeting, it was confirmed that the heritage lighting along Arklow’s Main Street will be temporarily removed to allow for an upgrade. During this process, new lights will be installed to ensure continued lighting on the street. Once the upgrade work is complete, the heritage lights will be returned to their original positions.
This work is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
Deputy Brennan also confirmed that his office now has a direct point of contact within Wicklow County Council for dealing with public lighting queries. All existing lighting faults reported by constituents in Arklow and South Wicklow have already been forwarded to the Council, and his office will continue to monitor progress.
Residents with ongoing concerns about public lighting are encouraged to contact Deputy Brennan’s office, which will liaise directly with the designated Council official.
