Arklow is set to welcome a new taxi service as Lynk Taxis, a well-established name in Dublin’s transport sector, plans to launch in the area. The announcement has been met with positivity from residents and local businesses who have long campaigned for more transportation choices.

The service will be under the leadership of Lee Moloney, owner of Lynk Bray (formerly MT Cabs), who is relocating to Arklow himself with his wife.

Speaking to Arklow News, Lee expressed enthusiasm about bringing the company’s customer-focused approach to the town.

“Having lived in Bray all my life, my wife and I have recently purchased a house in Arklow. It made sense to me that with us moving here, I might expand into Arklow to bring our friendly, reliable, and professional taxi service to the town.”

The expansion aims to provide Arklow residents with greater flexibility in taxi transport, offering both traditional call-based bookings and the convenience of the Lynk Taxi App.

“We aim to give the people of Arklow more choice for taxi transport,” Moloney added, emphasising the company’s commitment to integrating into the local community and building strong relationships with businesses.

“I aim to fully integrate myself into the town and look to build business relationships with the businesses currently operating in the town and those businesses that, like myself, aim to make Arklow their new home,” he said.

Moloney, who took over the family business from his father, Jerry, in 2021, brings a wealth of experience to the expansion. Lynk Bray, which partnered with the Lynk Taxi App in 2018, has built a reputation for reliability in the Bray area.

Lynk Taxis is already laying the groundwork for its Arklow operations. The company is actively recruiting drivers to join its fleet and encourages interested taxi drivers to watch for sign-up details in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Lynk is reaching out to local businesses, particularly those in hospitality, to offer corporate accounts and a unique “Taxi Butler” service, which allows businesses to easily arrange transport for their customers.

Businesses interested in setting up a corporate account or accessing the Taxi Butler can contact Lee Moloney directly at moloney.lee@lynk.ie.
