The Wicklow community is mourning the loss of Alan Adamson, a man whose unwavering optimism and love for Elvis Presley brought joy to so many.

Alan was well known in Bray, Greystones, and beyond as an ardent Elvis fan. He was often spotted around town embodying the spirit of the King of Rock & Roll. Several years ago, he took to the stage at The Whale Theatre and entertained the audience in a way that only he knew how.

The sad news spread around the county today, with many leaving glowing online tributes to the larger-than-life character.

“I was on a packed bus one day, and he got on, looked down and said, ‘make room for the king’. Everyone did. Great character. RIP”

“RIP, a gentle soul. He was a character. Some years ago, I remember seeing him on the bus help someone pay their fare when they were a few cents short. May he rest in peace.”
