Wicklow Pride Festival Names Gearóid Farrelly As Grand Marshal For 2025 Parade

The Wicklow Pride Festival has announced that acclaimed Irish comedian and podcaster Gearóid Farrelly will serve as Grand Marshal for the 2025 Wicklow Pride Parade. The highly anticipated event is set to take place in Wicklow Town on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
Farrelly, a Dublin-born comedian, has made a name for himself in the Irish comedy scene with his sharp wit and engaging storytelling. His career took off after becoming a finalist in the prestigious “So You Think You’re Funny?” competition at the Edinburgh Festival and winning the Bulmers Nuthin’ Butt Funny Newcomer award.
Over the years, he has shared the stage with Joan Rivers, Sarah Millican, and Patton Oswalt, performing at major festivals like the Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny.
Beyond stand-up, Farrelly is a well-known podcaster. His show Fascinated features interviews with prominent figures from various industries, while his Agony Rants podcast, co-hosted with Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh, combines personal stories with comedic advice.
Patrick Bracken, Chairperson of Wicklow Pride, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s Grand Marshal:
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Gearóid Farrelly leading our 2025 Pride Parade. His wit, warmth, and unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community make him the perfect choice. Wicklow Pride is all about celebrating inclusivity, joy, and visibility, and we know that Gearóid will bring his trademark humor and energy to the occasion. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Wicklow Town for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration!”
The Wicklow Pride Festival invites people from across County Wicklow and beyond to come together on July 5th, 2025, in a vibrant celebration of diversity, inclusion, and community spirit.
