The Arklow community has once again shown its dedication to keeping the town clean and beautiful, as volunteers teamed up with Arklow Tidy Towns for a North Beach clean-up following recent storms and heavy winds.

A fantastic group of residents collected bags of rubbish washed up along the shore, ensuring that the beloved beach remains a safe and scenic spot for everyone to enjoy.

Wednesday Walking Group Steps Up for the Cause

Not only did dedicated volunteers turn out for the clean-up, but the Women’s Wednesday Walking Group also played their part, combining their regular morning walk with an effort to help the environment. Setting off from Coral Leisure Centre, the group made their way to North Beach, picking up litter along the way.

The walking group meets every Wednesday at 10 AM at Deck Coffee House and welcomes new members of all fitness levels. It’s a great way to stay active while giving back to the community. Whether you come alone or bring a friend, it’s a friendly, social-paced walk open to all.

Recognising Local Heroes

Arklow Tidy Towns also gave a special shout-out to some other incredible individuals who gave their time and effort to the clean-up, including Carmel Breen, Pat Tyrrell, Nathalie Dunne, Ellen Inwood, and Ci Ni Mhurcu. The group said, “Their dedication to the town’s natural beauty is truly appreciated.”

Arklow Tidy Towns encourages anyone who wants to help with future clean-ups to get involved. Whether you have an hour to spare or want to take part in a community initiative, every effort makes a difference.
