Remembering Ms. Eileen Dunbar: A Dedicated Educator and Cherished Colleague

The St. Mary’s community is mourning the loss of Ms. Eileen Dunbar, a beloved former teacher and colleague, who passed away recently. The popular teacher was a respected and admired educator who dedicated 36 years to teaching English and History at the school before retiring in 2018.
The school paid tribute to Ms Dunbar saying:
“It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of our friend and former colleague, Ms Eileen Dunbar (affectionately known to her colleagues and many students as Lady Dunbar).”
“Before retiring in 2018, Eileen taught English and History during her 36 years in St. Mary’s. She had a great love of literature and of the past, all of which she imparted to her students along with her demand for both thoroughness and creative expression.”
“Among the many Posts of Responsibility duties performed by Eileen during her career were Year Head, Public Speaking and Debating, PRO, and the organisation of many foreign trips. She was also instrumental in the design and refurbishment of the School Library.”
“Her colleagues valued her advice and collaboration and the style and professionalism she brought to all areas of her work. A ‘Lady’ by name and nature, she will be sadly missed by all in our school community but most especially by her beloved husband PJ, her children and grandchildren whom she adored. May Eileen rest in eternal peace”
