The Arklow Recycling Centre is a dedicated facility located in Croghan Industrial Estate for household waste disposal and recycling, operated by Wicklow County Council. The centre provides an eco-friendly way for residents to responsibly dispose of waste and recyclable materials.
🚨 Important:
✅ Electrical Waste (WEEE) – Any item with a plug or battery, including washing machines, cookers, laptops, TVs, kettles, and toasters.
✅ Metal Waste – Aluminium/steel items (minimum 80% metal), food cans, and mixed steel.
✅ Batteries – Lead-acid and standard household batteries (AA, AAA, etc.).
✅ Glass – Clear, brown, and green bottles & jars (lids removed).
✅ Cardboard & Paper – Must be clean and flattened where possible.
✅ Textiles & Clothing – Clean clothing, paired shoes, and fabrics.
✅ Bikes & Scrap Metal – Old bicycles and other metal items.
✅ Plastic & Tetra Packs – Clean plastic bottles, food containers, and milk/juice cartons.
✅ Garden Waste – Grass cuttings, leaves, and other organic materials.
✅ Paint Cans – Full and empty paint cans.
✅ Waste Oil – Cooking and engine oil.
❌ Commercial fridge/freezers
❌ Soiled clothing, carpets, duvets, pillows
❌ Pyrex, crockery, fiberglass, or window frames
❌ Polystyrene pellets, beads, and foam insulation
❌ Ceramic toilets, mattresses, construction waste
If you have items that are still in good condition, consider donating them to charity or selling them via online marketplaces and community noticeboards before disposing of them.
