Arklow Racquetball Success At Overage All-Ireland Championships

Arklow Racquetball Club delivered an outstanding performance at the Overage All-Ireland Racquetball Championships in Kilkenny, securing multiple titles across various categories. The club’s players continued their impressive list of performances over the years with a strong collection of medals.

Toni Neary proved unstoppable in the Women’s 30+ category, claiming gold in both the singles and doubles competitions. Partnering with Bernie O’Callaghan, Neary secured a clean sweep, reinforcing her position as one of the top competitors in her division.

Veteran player Jimmy Gannon put on a stellar display, earning gold in the Men’s 50+ Doubles alongside partner Joe Farrell. Gannon followed up with another gold in the Men’s 60+ Singles, edging out Billy Walsh in a tightly contested final.

Joe Farrell and Jimmy Gannon took home Gold in the Men’s 50+ Doubles. Michael Barnes Jnr claimed Silver in the Men’s 40+ Singles after an intense tiebreaker against Leigh O’Brien. Finally, Curtis Young won Gold in the Men’s 30+ B category, following a hard-fought and well-deserved victory.

The 42nd Irish & 39th Arklow Open is happening from May 2nd to May 5th, which will bring a weekend of top-level racquetball action to the town.
