Arklow Parents Go Under the Needle for Autism Support

In a heartwarming and unconventional display of community spirit, a group of Arklow parents is preparing to take part in a unique fundraiser in support of Little Warriors, a local charity that supports children with autism and their families.
The campaign, titled “Surprise Ink,” will see three parents and a surprise guest receive mystery tattoos chosen entirely by the children from the group. The tattoos will be revealed to them only when they’re in the tattoo chair, with the event being streamed live online on Friday, August 15th.
In a fun twist, the fundraiser has just added a very familiar face to the line-up: Mr Patrick Bracken. In an exciting announcement, organisers confirmed that Patrick will be joining the tattoo challenge, marking his first-ever tattoo.
The following day, Saturday, August 16th, the public will get to see the grand reveal of the chosen tattoo designs at the Railway Tavern in Arklow.
The idea behind the fundraiser is not just to raise money, but to celebrate the spirit and creativity of the children themselves. With the tattoos chosen by the Little Warriors, this event becomes deeply personal and meaningful, highlighting the important role these children play in their community.
Little Warriors, which celebrated becoming a registered charity this year, offers a wide range of support for children with autism and their families. The group provides sensory play, inclusive family events, advice and guidance for parents, and works to promote social inclusion in local clubs, schools, and services. They also actively support community groups in making their activities more accessible.
Organisers described the fundraiser as a chance to shine a light on the amazing work of Little Warriors and to support the services they provide through a bit of light-hearted bravery and community engagement.
Donations can be made through the campaign’s fundraising page here, with all proceeds going directly to support the ongoing work of Little Warriors.
