Arklow Athletes Excel At Wicklow Indoor Championships

Arklow athletes from St. Benedict Inbhear Mor AC delivered a standout performance at the Wicklow Indoor Championships on Saturday. The club had 45 juveniles competing in the Under-8 to Under-16 categories along with 4 of their adult coaches.
The event, which showcased some of the region’s finest young talent, saw competitors from all of the Athletics Clubs in Wicklow. Competitors took on track races from 60m to 1500m along with field events including high jump, long jump, and shot putt. Arklow athletes from St. Benedict Inbhear Mor AC secured a total of 38 medals across the 10 different events.
Speaking after the event, club Chairperson Susan Dixon said;
“We are extremely proud of all our participants. It’s not just the medal wins but the sportsmanship and effort displayed by every athlete.”
“The commitment and enthusiasm shown by our athletes, from the youngest competitors to our experienced juveniles, was outstanding. Every one of them gave their best performance, and we couldn’t be prouder,”
“With such a successful outing at the Wicklow Indoor Championships, the club is looking ahead to future competitions, hoping to build on this momentum in the season to come.”
