New Arklow Memory Café To Support Those Affected By Dementia

Arklow Memory Café
The Arklow Memory Café enables people with dementia and their carers to socialise

A new Arklow Memory Café is set to provide a welcoming and supportive space for individuals affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s, their families, and their carers.

Organised by The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, the Memory Café offers a relaxed environment where people can enjoy a cup of tea while engaging in meaningful conversations with others who share similar experiences.

An experienced professional will also be on hand to provide guidance, advice, and support for those navigating the challenges of dementia care.

The initiative aims to foster social connections, reduce feelings of isolation, and create a safe and understanding community for people living with dementia. Carers can also benefit from practical advice and emotional support, ensuring they have access to valuable resources to help them in their role.

Memory Cafés have proven to be a lifeline in many communities, offering an informal setting where visitors can share experiences, ask questions, and build friendships with others who truly understand their journey.

The Arklow Memory Café will start on Monday, April 7th from 2 pm – 4 pm and continue on the second Monday of each month and will be located at Arus Lorcain, Castle Park Y14 R822.
