Darkness Into Light Arklow Returns For 2025

Darkness Into Light Arklow is returning in 2025 on Saturday, May 10th, at 4:15 am. Participants will convene at the meeting point at the Arklow Scout Hall. The annual event brings communities together worldwide to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention and mental health support. Last year Darkness Into Light Arklow raised a total of €7,581 for Pieta House.
Registration and Participation
Participants are encouraged to register through the official Darkness Into Light website to join the Arklow walk. Early registration ensures the timely delivery of the event t-shirt, which has a fresh new design for 2025. However, participants are welcome to reuse t-shirts from previous years to promote sustainability.
Fundraising Efforts
While fundraising is optional, it is crucial in supporting Pieta, the organization behind Darkness Into Light. Pieta relies on public donations for 85% of its funding, and events like this are vital for maintaining free services for those in need. Incentives are available for fundraisers: raising over €250 earns a complimentary beanie, and over €500 secures a free reflective hoodie.
Community Impact
The Arklow community has consistently demonstrated strong support for Darkness Into Light. The event fosters a sense of unity and collective purpose, as residents come together to shine a light on mental health issues. Local organizations and volunteers play a pivotal role in organizing and promoting the walk, ensuring its success year after year.
