402 Art Collective Bids Farewell to Bridgewater and Looks to the Future

This week marks the end of an era for the 402 Art Collective as they officially bid farewell to their space at Bridgewater Shopping Centre. The collective, which has been a hub for creativity and artistic expression in Arklow, is now actively seeking a new home in the heart of the town.
Chairperson Peir Leonard expressed gratitude on behalf of the committee to the team at Bridgewater Shopping Centre, including Manager Stephanie Staines, PR Head Ailish Gannon, and the dedicated security staff, for their unwavering support over the years.
“We have been fortunate to have such incredible backing as we work towards the creation of our very own Arklow Arts Centre,” said Leonard.
The transition comes with a renewed commitment to revitalizing the town’s arts scene. The collective is determined to bring a burst of creative energy to Arklow and play a key role in its cultural regeneration.
Continued Exhibitions and Future Plans
Despite the move, 402 Art Collective will continue to showcase local talent through upcoming exhibitions:
- April – Arklow Heritage Museum
- May – Arklow Library
Further details will be announced soon.
Call for Community Support
As the search for a permanent home intensifies, the collective is calling on the community to rally behind the effort to establish an independent Arklow Arts Centre. Donations and support are crucial to making this vision a reality.
Those who wish to contribute can support both the 402 Art Collective and The Sheds Gallery as they work toward securing a new artistic space for Arklow.
